This 7 Nights 8 Days Andaman tour package is the most comprehensive itinerary we offer — the one to choose if you want to see the islands properly, in one trip, without ever feeling rushed. You'll begin in Port Blair, the historic capital, where the solemn Cellular Jail and its evocative Sound & Light Show bring India's freedom struggle to life. A relaxed afternoon at Corbyn's Cove Beach sets the tone for the week ahead.

Day 2 is a full-day harbour excursion — a boat ride to North Bay (Coral Island) for a glass-bottom boat ride over live coral colonies and optional water sports, followed by Ross Island, from where the British governed the entire Andaman & Nicobar Islands until 1941. The ruins of the church, swimming pool, chief commissioner's residence, and grand ballrooms make it an unforgettable walk through colonial history.

On Day 3, you'll sail by inter-island ferry to Havelock Island (Swaraj Dweep) — home to Radhanagar Beach, famously rated "Best Beach in Asia" by TIME Magazine. Day 4 takes you to Elephant Beach for a guided snorkelling experience over live coral reefs, reached by a traditional wooden dunghi boat.

Day 5 adds the quiet charm of Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep) — a triangular island of paddy fields and banana plantations, with Bharatpur Beach, the striking Natural Rock Bridge at Laxmanpur, and Laxmanpur's sunset shores. You'll return to Port Blair on Day 6 with a visit to Chidiya Tapu, the "Bird Island" at the southern tip of South Andaman.

Day 7 is the highlight that sets this itinerary apart — a full-day expedition to Baratang Island, 110 km from Port Blair by road through the Jarawa tribal reserve. You'll take a boat through towering mangrove creeks and walk the final stretch to the ancient limestone caves, formed over millions of years. Day 8 is your departure, with a comfortable transfer to the airport.

Arrive at Veer Savarkar International Airport, Port Blair in the morning, where our representative will meet and greet you. You'll be transferred to your hotel for check-in and a short rest. After lunch, set off for Corbyn's Cove Beach, located about 9 km from the city — a beautiful coconut-palm-fringed beach that is ideal for swimming, sun-bathing, and simply soaking in the island breeze.

Later in the afternoon, proceed to the Cellular Jail Museum — the infamous "Kala Pani" where India's freedom fighters were once imprisoned. In the evening, attend the moving Sound & Light Show at the jail, where the heroic saga of the Indian freedom struggle is brought vividly to life against the backdrop of the historic prison walls.

After breakfast, set off on a full-day excursion by boat to North Bay (Coral Island) — one of the best places in the Andamans to see coral reefs, exotic varieties of beautiful ornamental fishes and other marine life. A glass-bottom boat ride helps you take a closer look at the vast coral colonies without getting into the water. You can also enjoy snorkelling and other water sports activities like Jet Ski rides, sea walking, and more at your own cost.

Please note: Carry your own snacks or packed lunch, drinking water, and a change of clothes.

Next, visit Ross Island — from where the British governed the entire Andaman & Nicobar Islands prior to India's Independence. One can see remnants of an opulent past in the ruins of the church, swimming pool and the Chief Commissioner's residence, with its huge gardens and grand ballrooms. There is also a cemetery and a small museum managed by the Indian Navy. This island is an ideal destination for a nature walk amidst sylvan surroundings with deer, peacocks, exotic birds, and more.

Early in the morning, you'll be transferred to the Phoenix Bay Jetty for your inter-island ferry to Havelock Island — approximately 57 km by sea from Port Blair. The cruise itself is a highlight, with open-deck views of the Andaman Sea and passing islands.

On arrival at Havelock, check in to your hotel and enjoy a relaxed afternoon at the world-famous Radhanagar Beach (Beach No. 7). Named the "Best Beach in Asia" by TIME Magazine in 2004 and a recipient of the prestigious Blue Flag Certification, Radhanagar offers powder-soft white sand, calm turquoise water, and one of the most spectacular sunsets in the Indian Ocean.

After breakfast, proceed to the jetty for a short speedboat / dunghi ride to Elephant Beach, located near the eastern coast of Havelock Island. The boat ride itself passes through mangroves and is a memorable part of the experience.

At Elephant Beach, enjoy an adventurous snorkelling session — a leisure water sport where you swim on the surface wearing a face mask and view the vibrant underwater coral gardens teeming with tropical fish. Life jackets and snorkelling gear are provided, and instructors guide beginners throughout. Elephant Beach is also excellent for swimming, sunbathing, and photography.

Please note: Carry your own snacks or packed lunch, drinking water, and a change of clothes. Return to your hotel by late afternoon.

After breakfast, check out from your Havelock hotel and sail by ferry to Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep) — a beautiful, triangular-shaped island with plenty of marine life, lush green surroundings, paddy fields, banana plantations, and tropical trees. Its laid-back pace makes it a favourite with travellers who want a quieter side of the Andamans.

Visit Laxmanpur Beach, where you can see the remarkable Natural Rock Bridge — a coral formation shaped over centuries by the sea, best viewed during low tide. Later, head to Bharatpur Beach, ideal for snorkelling and glass-bottom boat rides, where you can see beautiful corals and underwater life without even getting wet. The pristine sandy shores of Bharatpur and Laxmanpur are among the best beaches in the islands to simply explore and unwind — the breathtaking view of the sea and the lush greenery here is genuinely rejuvenating.

After breakfast, check out from your Neil Island hotel and board the return ferry to Port Blair. On arrival, you'll be transferred to your hotel for check-in and a short rest.

Later in the afternoon, visit Chidiya Tapu — literally the "Bird Island" — situated at the southernmost tip of South Andaman, around 35 km from Port Blair. Surrounded by lush green mangroves, dense forest cover and numerous chirping birds, the Sylvan Sands and Munda Pahar beaches make it an ideal picnic spot and a paradise for birdwatchers and nature lovers. The sunset from Chidiya Tapu's rocky shore is widely regarded as one of the finest in the Andaman Islands. Return to your hotel by evening.

Early in the morning, travel to Baratang Island with packed breakfast from the hotel — approximately 110 km from Port Blair by road. The journey itself is part of the adventure, passing through the Jarawa tribal reserve (windows remain closed and photography is strictly prohibited in this stretch). The route includes a short vehicle ferry crossing over the Middle Strait.

Baratang holds some of nature's best treasures gifted to these islands. On arrival, comes the most exciting part of the day — a boat journey through dense mangrove creeks, which takes about 30 minutes and leads you to the Limestone Caves. From the jetty, it's a short 20-minute walk along a forested trail to reach the caves themselves — ancient formations of stalactites and stalagmites created over millions of years, and one of the most remarkable natural sights in the Andamans.

Please note: Carry drinking water, comfortable walking shoes, and a change of clothes. Photography inside the tribal reserve area is strictly prohibited. Depending on tide and weather conditions, the mud volcano at Nayamale may also be included where time permits.

The morning is free for packing, last-minute souvenir shopping, or personal activities. Depending on your flight schedule, you'll be transferred to Veer Savarkar International Airport for your onward journey.

As you fly out over the turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea, you'll carry home memories of historic prisons, colonial ruins swallowed by jungle, coral reefs, mangrove creeks, ancient limestone caves, quiet island villages, and sunsets that linger long after you've landed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking this tour

What is the difference between this 7N/8D package and the shorter itineraries?
The 4N/5D covers Port Blair and Havelock only. The 5N/6D adds Neil Island. The 6N/7D adds the North Bay & Ross Island harbour excursion. This 7N/8D version adds a full-day Baratang Island expedition on Day 7 — the road journey through the Jarawa reserve, a boat ride through mangrove creeks, and a forest walk to the ancient limestone caves. It's the only itinerary of the four that includes Baratang.
What exactly is the Baratang Island excursion like?
It's a full-day trip starting very early in the morning (typically 3:30–4:30 AM) with packed breakfast. You'll drive about 110 km south from Port Blair by AC vehicle, crossing the Middle Strait by vehicle ferry, and travelling through the Jarawa tribal reserve (windows closed, no photography). At Baratang, you board a boat that takes you through beautiful mangrove creeks for about 30 minutes, followed by a short 20-minute walk through forest to reach the limestone caves — remarkable stalactite and stalagmite formations created over millions of years. Where time and tide permit, the mud volcano at Nayamale may also be included. You return to Port Blair by evening.
Is photography allowed on the Baratang trip?
Photography is strictly prohibited while travelling through the Jarawa tribal reserve between Jirkatang and Middle Strait — this is a government regulation and vehicle windows must remain closed in that stretch. Once you reach Baratang and are on the boat and at the limestone caves, photography is generally permitted. Your driver and coordinator will advise you clearly on where you can and cannot take pictures.
Is the Baratang excursion physically demanding?
It's a long day but not strenuous. The main physical activity is a 20-minute walk along a fairly flat forest trail to reach the caves, plus some steps and uneven ground inside. Comfortable walking shoes are essential. The trail can be slippery during monsoon. Guests with limited mobility, knee problems, or very young children should reconsider this excursion — we're happy to arrange an alternative Port Blair sightseeing day instead.
Is the glass-bottom boat ride at North Bay included?
Yes — the glass-bottom boat ride at North Bay is included in your package, as is the boat excursion to Ross Island and all entry permits. Optional water sports at North Bay such as jet ski rides, sea walking, snorkelling, and scuba diving are not included and can be booked directly with the vendors on the island at your own cost.
Do I need to know swimming for the Elephant Beach snorkelling?
Not at all. Snorkelling at Elephant Beach is conducted in shallow, calm waters with life jackets and floatation support provided. Trained instructors accompany all guests, and non-swimmers regularly enjoy the experience. You simply float on the surface and look down at the corals through your mask. The glass-bottom boat rides at North Bay and Bharatpur Beach are even easier — you don't even enter the water.
How many boat and ferry rides are involved in this itinerary?
There are three inter-island ferry crossings: Port Blair → Havelock (Day 3), Havelock → Neil Island (Day 5), and Neil Island → Port Blair (Day 6). Plus the Day 2 harbour boat excursion covering North Bay and Ross Island, the Day 4 dunghi ride to Elephant Beach, the Day 7 vehicle ferry across Middle Strait, and the Baratang mangrove creek boat ride. All ferry tickets, boat tickets, and permits in base class are included in your package. Premium catamaran upgrades (Makruzz, Nautika Lite) are available at an additional cost on request.
What is the best time to book this Andaman package?
The best time to travel is between October and May, when the seas are calm and visibility for snorkelling is excellent. We recommend booking at least 45 days in advance during peak season (December–February), as hotels and premium ferry seats sell out quickly — especially for longer, multi-island itineraries. For monsoon travel (June–September), rates are lower but some activities, including the North Bay / Ross Island excursion and the Baratang boat ride, may be suspended due to rough seas.
Are flights included in the package price?
No, airfare is not included in the package price. However, we can help you find the best flight options to Port Blair from your departure city, and we'll coordinate your airport pickup accordingly. Just share your preferred dates and we'll suggest suitable flight timings. We strongly recommend booking a post-noon departure flight on Day 8, since Day 7's Baratang excursion is a long day.
Can I extend this itinerary further?
Yes. This 7N/8D itinerary can be extended to 8N/9D or 9N/10D to include Jolly Buoy or Red Skin Island (Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park), Mount Harriet National Park, Ross Island at night for the light and sound show, or a longer stay on Havelock with additional water sports. Since permits and seasonal closures vary, please mention your interest when enquiring and we'll design an extended version for you.
What kind of hotels are included, and can I upgrade?
The package includes comfortable 3-star hotels or equivalent resorts on twin-sharing basis with daily breakfast. You can upgrade to 4-star or 5-star properties, beachfront resorts, or premium villas at an additional cost. Neil Island has fewer premium properties than Havelock, so we recommend sharing your preference early so we can secure the best available option.
Is the itinerary flexible if I want to skip an activity?
Yes. The itinerary is a suggested plan, not a rigid schedule. If you'd prefer to skip a particular sightseeing stop and spend more time at the beach or hotel, simply inform your local coordinator. We'll adjust the day's plan wherever possible without affecting the overall trip. Note that the Baratang excursion is a fixed-departure day trip — skipping it entirely would need to be communicated in advance.
What happens if a ferry or boat excursion is cancelled due to weather?
Cancellations due to weather are rare but possible, especially during monsoon. For the North Bay / Ross Island and Baratang boat rides, if the operator cancels, we reschedule to another day of your trip or offer an alternative sightseeing plan. For inter-island ferries, we reschedule the affected crossing to the next available sailing. If a sailing cannot be arranged at all, the affected portion of the package is refunded as per operator policy.
